This is Shawn's welding probes that he made himself

  1. Do we get to order these along with the case?

  2. Are copper probes the best material? It looks like Shawn used all heavy duty hardware. That should keep the inductance and resistance down.

  3. Mike, I'm worried about you :)) You will never get your welder built if you worry about small things like this. Those connectors are welding machine connectors and can handle a lot of current. If I'm not mistaken(correct me if I'm wrong) I think its made out of brass mixed with copper and those connectors makes a very tight connection when locked in place. Loosing 10 or 20 amps is not going to make any difference when making a weld.

  4. You are absolutely correct Fritz. These are a brass connectors. I keep a few of these around as spares for my other welders at the shop. These particular connectors fit my Esab mig rated for 400amp. And my Thermal Arc TIG, 300amp. Fritz's style of weld connector is much less exspensive and may be a better option. If I wouldnt have had these laying around I likely wouldnt have used them. For those of you that would like to use them I can get more. Might even be able to find a deal on them somewhere if we get enough interest:)

  5. Hi Tim, yes I'd be willing to build and send these with the enclosure. I need to figure up material cost, but I'm thinking $60-75 without the Euro style weld connectors.
